I keep hearing "More Lovecraft, please!" and I'm totally on board with that. But I've made alot of Lovecraftian pieces so I had to sit down and think about what I HAVEN'T done. Then it hit me, "Dagon!"

I wanted to make sure it would be quite different from my Innsmouth/Deep Ones inspired piece. How else can I portray a fishlike humanoid Demi-God, but with lots o' creepy fish?

To make it a little better, I aquired a glass fish eye through a taxidermy supplier. These fish and eye setting were soldered together, and gave me alot of trouble. It was worth it though.

I added a raw brass backing to protect skin from sharp points. I then coated all the brass with Vintaj Brass Co. patina inks. The highlights were brought out using a fine grit steel wool.

Here you can see the difference from it's raw brass form to blackened patina!
In this pic, I've set the eye and bent the prongs inward to "hold" on to it.
This piece is far from done, even after all this. I am waiting for some "fishbone" style brass chain to come in the mail! I'm very excited about this chain because I've never seen anything like it.
Thanks for taking a look!

I can't wait to see the chain! And the eye is really catching :)
